Aims and Objectives

ZLC is a working people – based organisation whose aims include:

  1. Promoting the struggles of working people by helping develop their legal, administrative, economic and intellectual capacities with particular reference to; workers committees, trade unions, farm workers, contract workers, child workers and women workers as well as defence of the rights to organise, bargain and strike.

Mission Statement

In remembering the plight of the down trodden and creators of social wealth, ZLC stands for the total emancipation of working people and the enhancement of social justice in the working place and society at large.  It stands opposed to the tyranny of the few in the economic and political spheres of society, especially prevalent today under neo-liberal globalisation.

What is ZLC?

The Zimbabwe Labour Centre, “ZLC” is a working people-based not-for-profit registered Trust and a Legal Aid Clinic under the Law Society of Zimbabwe.  Zimbabwe Labour Centre Working People’s college is registered with the Ministry of Higher & Tertiary Education, Science and Technology in terms of the Manpower Planning and Development Act Chapter 28:02 and Statutory Instruments 333 of 1996 and No 26 of 2001.
